Overview

Rippleffect Treks

Rippleffect now offers four seasons of outdoor adventure through our Treks program.  Our Treks offer the height of Rippleffect wilderness adventure as Trekkers will have the opportunity to summit snowy White Mountain peaks, expedition paddle throughout Casco Bay’s Calendar Islands, backpack on the Appalachian Trail  and more!  With 3-day long weekend programs throughout the school year to 10-day multi-sport treks, these programs are designed to meet a wide range of interests and schedules for busy students.  Specific destinations will vary based on the season and the weather conditions.

Open to All High School Students (Unless otherwise noted)

Receive a $20 early bird discount if you register with a 50% deposit before January 20th, 2017 (Summer Programs Only).

 

2017 Spring Trek

Greet spring in the wilds of the Whites on this 3-day backpacking trek with Rippleffect!  This adventure will emphasize four critical elements to the expedition team: Safety, Teamwork, Leadership and FUN!  Participants should be motivated, willing to challenge themselves and prepared to be active.

What is included?

-All necessary supplemental gear and clothing

– Food and transportation to and from Portland

– 1:6 guide to participant ratio

-Outdoor leadership skill building curriculum

When is it?

Trek Dates: May 27-29 (Saturday-Monday on Memorial Day Weekend)

Pack out date: Friday, May 26th at 5:00pm

How much does it cost?

Tuition is $300/participant.

2017 Summer Treks

Summer Backpacking Trek

When is it?

July 11-18

How much does it cost?

Tuition is $775

Includes food, transportation, and all supplemental clothing and gear.

 

Paddle Treks

These sea kayaking adventures offer the opportunity to explore the beautiful islands of Casco Bay while learning valuable outdoor living and leadership skills. Camping on a different island each night, participants will enjoy making new friends among the natural beauty of Maine’s coast.

When is it?

Paddle Trek Lower Casco Bay (Ages 12-14): July 17-21

Paddle Trek Session Upper Casco Bay (Ages 14-17): July 25-29

How much does it cost?

Tuition is $575*

Includes food, transportation, and all supplemental clothing and gear.

Trippleffect Multi-Sport Trek

Lace up your boots and grab a paddle for this ten-day wilderness adventure that begins with backpacking and rock climbing in the White Mountains before heading to the ocean for a multi-day sea-kayaking expedition. Ten days of adventure await those willing to go the distance, challenge themselves, and have an epic adventure they’ll never forget!

When is it?

August 2 – 11 (Ages 15-18)

How much does it cost?

$935 per participant*

Includes food, transportation, and all supplemental clothing and gear.

2017 Fall Trek

Join us for the Rippleffect Fall Paddle Trek.  This Columbus Day weekend trip will have participants paddling through the waters of Casco Bay while visiting islands ablaze in the colors of the fall. Trekkers will have the opportunity to explore the concrete towers of Jewell Island, go tidepooling on Bangs Island and hike around Little Chebeague Island, all while learning about the coastal ecosystem and creating lasting memories and friendships!

October 7 – 9 (Columbus Day Weekend)

How much does it cost?

Tuition is $300/participant.

2017 Winter Trek

Join the Rippleffect Winter Trek Team as they explore the White Mountains of New Hampshire! This seriously fun 3-day/2-night adventure is limited to 12 participants, so contact Rippleffect to hold your spot today.

No prior experience is necessary.  This adventure will emphasize four critical elements to the expedition team: Safety, Teamwork, Leadership and FUN!  Participants should be motivated, willing to challenge themselves and prepared to be active!
