Overview

In this week-long overnight program, Islanders will sea kayak, explore the Cow Island challenge course, play intensely fun games, and learn wilderness camping and cooking skills. Students will put their new outdoor living skills to practice on a one-night paddle to a neighboring Casco Bay island.  Other Islander program activities may include environmental art projects, yoga, leadership initiatives, tide pooling, fire building competitions, Open Mic nights, talent shows, and more!

Rippleffect provides transportation to Cow Island from downtown Portland for program participants. Students should be dropped off at 7:30am Monday and be picked up at 5:00pm Friday at the Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal on the Maine State Pier. Students will receive a comprehensive gear list. Rippleffect provides all meals and specialized sea kayaking and camping equipment.
