Vajra Yoga & Meditation: Inner Alignment
In the Buddhist Tantric tradition, it is understood that the mind affects the body and heart. With the discovery of neuro-plasticity (structural and functional changes in the brain as a result of training and experience), science is confirming this ancient yogic wisdom.
In Vajra Yoga & Meditation, we draw on both ancient yogic and modern scientific knowledge to experience how our mind can be changed and, consequently, our heart and body as well.
Our practice of yoga and meditation together is a way to create a spacious mind and heart. Guided by Vajra Yoga founder Jill Satterfield and using seated meditation, walking meditation, and meditation in both simple and advanced yoga postures, we utilize our mind to regenerate our heart and body. There is less concern about whether we can perform an advanced yoga posture, but rather emphasis on being fully present in the posture.
Our body becomes balanced from the continual conversation of body, mind, and heart in this practice, and acceptance, joy, and deeper health naturally follow.
One year of asana practice is suggested but not required.
