Fort Lyons is the historic 1907 Cow Island Military Installation transformed into an eco-campus for human development on Casco Bay. Following 7 strong years offering adventure education to Maine youth, Rippleffect's adult program division was created as a result of many adults, traditional Cow Island visitors, stating they wish they could return to Cow Island for their own transformational experience.

Not only are we able to provide our clients with impacting adventure retreats, but we also serve our alumni students with a chance to hone their vocational skills working as interns and assistant guides. Cow Island, base of operations for Fort Lyons programs, lies geographically at the center of many other residential islands of Casco Bay. Cow Island is also a mere three miles from Portland and two miles from the Falmouth shore-side and similarly distanced to many other mainland coastal communities.
